Felipe Slimobich
Felipe Slimobich works with different languages, dance, music, linguistics and martial arts, to investigate and develop a vision of tango, using play and imagination as a connector of these disciplines and as a learning method. From the martial arts he takes the mechanics of movement (technique); from linguistics, the cognitive tools to understand dance as a system (analysis); and from music, the rhythmic sense to play with the interpretative possibilities (application).
During the last twenty years, Felipe performed in festivals and taught tango dance, piano and music theory all around Europe, Russia and the United States. He started learning music at the age of seven and dancing tango at eleven years old. He has an Instructor Degree in Taekwondo ITF, studied Spanish Philology at UNED, music composition at UCA, piano with the renowed tango composer Virgilio Expósito, and tango danza with several teachers and schools of different styles.

Festival Workshops by Felipe & Manuela
Every workshop will have the following methodology in common:
Develop an idea (could be one specific step) in all its possible variants and alternatives by the use of a system of rules and codes in order to allow each couple to create and invent their own combinations.
The goal is that each dancer, both leaders and followers, should not just learn a new set of steps but instead have an active role in the construction of the class. We will work in the mechanics of each movements, the technique and mainly, the hearing and the interpretation of the music.
FM1 Sacadas: The art of combinations and the change of roles.
FM2 Barridas, Pasadas and Soltadas.
FM3 Drawing with the Feet: Adornos (embellishments) for both roles.
FM4 Boleos: Classification, Technique & Dynamics.
FM5 Musicality and Interpretation.
